The following experience report comes from a seminar participant whose 13-year-old daughter got a skin rash. The mother writes:

The grandmother casually arranges with her granddaughter a joint trip abroad, which she could use to improve her language skills (English). No exact date was set; it was only settled that some school holidays would be used. The then-13-year-old granddaughter casually agreed for some future time. One afternoon, when the two met, the grandmother said, "Today I booked our trip, it starts next holidays!"

The girl came home quietly that same day, and when Mom asked what was wrong, she fell into her arms crying: "Grandma booked the trip. I don't want to be away from you, or from Dad and my friends either. She can't cancel the trip - that'll be expensive, and she went to so much trouble."

The girl's mother talked with her for a while about the topic and where the feeling of missing them came from, and then decided: "I'll call Grandma now and ask her to cancel the well-meant trip. You'll stay with us during the holidays and can make up the trip with Grandma once the wish for it is big enough in you." The mother told her 5 minutes later that everything was settled and Grandma wasn't upset.

About 1.5 hours later, the rash appeared on the inner sides of the girl's arms - the conflict of "not wanting to be separated" was resolved and healing. About 1.5-2 hours later the rash had disappeared.

In the picture, the skin rash is much more clearly visible on the inside of the left elbow crease. She is right-handed, so the left arm is the mother/child side. The inside of the arm means "not wanting to be separated". So she primarily did not want to be separated from her mother.

But the rash can also be seen on the inside of the right elbow crease, i.e. on the partner side - but noticeably less. So the girl also did not want to be separated from her dad and her friends. However, her greatest fear was of separation from Mom.
